Feedback

From some of the participants in 2007

CELIBRATE

Denise (the founder) was very encouraged by the number of people who have identified with what she is doing and were able to talk to her about themselves in this area. Previously they have felt very much alone.  Denise found the Soapbox gave her confidence, having never done anything like it before.  Loved just being part of the whole thing and didn’t want the week to end.

FOOD BANK

Jeremy Ravn: “people spend the first part of the day on the commercial stands and then come up here to the Sharing Show and discover their true passion.” He used Soapbox well.  Main benefit for them is contacts with others in the Sharing Show.

WORDS THAT ROCK YOUR SOUL

Susan Hill was very excited. She brought with her a small team from her home church, and always had someone posted on entrance with basket of sweets.  She sold 10 books and many other things from the stand.  David Aldous of Premier Radio and a God TV presenter came and spoke to her.  He said he bought her book last year and he uses it regularly for worship.

LIGHTS IN EVERY STREET

Their spokesperson said that they are sensing that the Lord is putting this kind of ministry on people’s hearts.  To some it is a new idea and it plants a little seed and they think “ok – yes this is something I should be doing.”  One woman came to the stand and said she had been thinking about this for 5 years but didn’t know how to do it. Went away with many leaflets and ideas etc.

GREEN PASTURES

Peter Cunningham was interviewed by the God Channel which was good promotion for the Sharing Show.  They are able to work with all denominations – having links and enquiries from URC, Methodists, Assemblies of God, Roman Catholics, Anglicans, New Frontiers. The stand was always very busy with people making enquiries and taking leaflets.  He enjoyed the Soapbox opportunity.

ROMANCE ACADEMY

Rachel was at the 2006 Sharing Show when they were approached by a Trust looking for someone to sponsor.  They were chosen and it saved their ministry as they were given “seed money for next 3 years”.  Also since last year have had joint work with Love Cornwall, Eden People and Jam Magazine. She loved being able to use the Soapbox.

GOD’S BICYCLES

They used the Soapbox successfully. They had a man come to the stand wanting bikes for preachers in London.  In the past when they have been offered bikes they have had to say “no” as there was no outlet for them.  Now they can accept bikes as well as sponsorship.

LOVE CORNWALL

The most wonderful result of the mission in 2006 would be Hope Cornwall 08 with Love Cornwall leading the way.  Also a Ministry Bus was offered to Cornwall free of charge and with half running costs for the year paid.

GRASS ROOTS TRUST

Many people came to stand interested in having them for talks.  Also links with schools.

EDEN PEOPLE

Colin used the Soapbox very well.  They had some good opportunities to pray with people.

GLADYS FAMORIYO

For Gladys the Sharing Show has meant “meeting phenomenal people and some key decision makers.”  Many people coming to the stand have invited her to speak at meetings and set up women’s groups.  Also Christian Radio asked her to do an interview.  Sold a good number of her books, but it was noticed that she was generous in giving them away too.

JAM MAGAZINE

The result from 2006 was the purchase of 100 magazines for Love Cornwall for the schools and youth concerts and cementing a relationship with Romance Academy.  In 2007 it was in a much better position, so more contacts and getting connected to people “who like what we do.”  Sharing show means networking with like-minded people.   Met an evangelist who goes to car boot sales for outreach.  He bought 100’s of magazines to give away as a means of connecting and taking the church into a different environment.

BEAUTIFULLY MADE

They did not exhibit in the Sharing Show.  Two young ladies who have taken it upon themselves to help ladies in Nepal and India make handbags etc.  They have sourced fair-trade materials and gone to Nepal and India to teach ladies how to use sewing machines etc.  The Salvation Army had allowed them to sell bags from their stand downstairs.  However, they were not getting any interest.  Invited to come and use the Soapbox (twice) and managed to sell 8 bags.  Very encouraged.
