Welcome to The Centre for Contemporary Ministry Website
CCM is an educational charity with a twofold purpose expressed in its mission statement
Mission Statement
To promote the Christian faith through the provision of educational resources that envision, equip and enable leaders to be more effective in their calling to ministry.
To promote community transformation through proactive engagement with the forces of change in contemporary society, initiating projects that release the oppressed and enable the disadvantaged to reach their potential.
Ethos
The thread which runs through all CCM's activities is the aim of understanding the nature of social change in our society in order to equip leaders to respond to change proactively and to facilitate change-agents that promote personal, systemic and corporate values based upon the teaching of Jesus.
The Objectives of CCM are the following:
In Teaching

To develop leadership training for disadvantaged young people to enable them to reach their full potential.
To provide other aspects of relevant training where needed.
In Research

To establish a Research Centre for the Study of Slavery
In Social Action
To benefit from strategies of social change used by William Wilberforce and members of the 18th and 19th Century Clapham Group and to explore their effectiveness for influencing the values of the nation in the 21st century by establishing a range of relevant projects.
