This page offers a monthly update of the work taking place to restore Moggerhanger House. The page will include details of the planning work currently being undertaken,and when work is underway there will be regular updates given on the status of the restoration work, together with the current proposed timescale for completion of the works as outlined in the project plan.

December Update
This will be the last report on the restoration work, as the current contract is now virtually completed. All that remains now is the final 'snagging' and the work to replace the flat roof above the entrance which needs replacing following the recent outbreak of dry-rot. This - in turn - will enable us to complete the decorations in the Entrance Hall.

You will probably be aware that our opening over the last few months has been very encouraging. About 5000 visitors came over the summer to tour the house and visit our tea rooms, and we have also been able to host an number of meetings since our conference facilities opened in October. The picture above shows the Old Drawing Room laid out with some of our new conference chairs.

Preparations are already underway for our summer season 2006. We shall be conducting tours twice daily from June 2nd to September 11th, and we are already taking bookings for group visits.

On top of this, our catering facilities continue to expand. Our tea rooms will continue to open daily from 11am - 4pm, and our popular Bistro nights will continue each Thursday and Friday (Please do note that pre-booking for these is quite important as numbers are very limited and we do fill up quite easily).

Thanks you for all the support we have received over the last year, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Moggerhanger in 2006. In particular, please make a note in your diary about our annual Snowdrop Weekends which - as ever - will be during the first two weekends in February (Feb 4/5th and 11/12th ) .
