Moggerhanger Lower School has a fine reputation within the village and surrounding area. An excellent report from Ofsted in 2002 has helped increase its standing still further.

For the last few years, the school has played an active part in our June Open Day, with Class 2 performing a mixture of song, dance, drama and poetry. This has now become one of the regular highlights our open season, and we hope they will be able to continue performing in the coming years.

During July 2005, the school recently performed a selection of songs from 'Oliver' as part of our 'Moggerhanger Park thro' the Ages' event. The picture (above left) shows some of the children performing on the South verandah. The school has also visited Moggerhanger Park as part of their national curriculum studies, visiting both the House and the Walled Gardens. The projects resulting from this work were displayed during the National Heritage Weekend.

A pleasant and welcoming mid 19th Century church, St Johns serves the parish of Moggerhanger and Chalton. The church is a central focal point of many local events, and has collaborated with many in the village to address local community needs, recently opening a shop (the only one in Moggerhanger, apart from our tuck shop!). Needless to say, a number of our staff/volunteers are also very involved in the church, so links continue to grow!

The home has a proud tradition, and provides a supportive, warm atmosphere for those who are most badly in need of care and support. As well as providing for these needs, the Home also supports our Bonfire Night party through the loan of their external lights!
