Weddings At Moggerhanger Park

Your wedding

Ceremony     Reception     Services

Front of House
Moggerhanger House is the perfect venue for the smaller, intimate wedding ceremony and reception. As well as a broad range of menus and services for the reception, we are also able to host your wedding ceremony in our chapel, being fully licensed to conduct Christian wedding ceremonies.

In time we also hope to be able to host larger functions in a marquee on the back lawn, but this service won't be available until after our grounds restoration program is complete (which is currently scheduled for Spring 2010). (We would love to host your event in a marquee right now, but not whilst there is a risk that the bride may twist her ankle down a rabbit hole!). Therefore we are delighted to offer the following facilities for your consideration:

The Wedding Ceremony

Chapel
The Chapel
The Chapel in Moggerhanger House provides a beautiful setting for this very special service of commitment. Originally Mrs Thornton's Boudoir, the Chapel can accommodate up to 20 people, although larger ceremonies can be accommodated in other rooms within this historic house. (The 'Soane Room' can accommodate up to 30 people and the 'Eating Room' up to 50 people.)

Additionally, the splendid architecture of the Stair Hall and the Semi-Circular Landing, with its oculus, provide a wonderful backdrop for some memorable photographs of the occasion.

  • Exclusive use of the Chapel for the ceremony (and other rooms if required)
  • Use of the Entrance Hall and Stair Hall for photographs
  • The services of Moggerhanger Park Authorised Person to conduct the service
  • We also offer the opportunity to meet with the Authorised Person before the wedding day to discuss and plan the content of the service, plus the chance to meet with those who will facilitate the ceremony so that we can ensure your wedding truly meets your requirements.
